Germain Hemmings Pka plucky Ranks was born and raised in Porus, Manchester Jamaica. He has been in the music business as a DJ
since he was attending primary school. Plucky said while he was a child growing us he would always enter ever DJ contest
in his area where he grew up. He remembered wining 12 out of 13 contests back then.
After leaving Jamaica in 1996 he migrated to Brooklyn New York, where he met with one of New York’s top radio DJ’s Bobby Konders
actually recognized Plucky Ranks from seeing his performance during a stage shows.
After getting to Konders well enough the two started working together where Bobby Konders produced and released his first single
called “She want it bad” around 2001. After his sting ended with Konders, Plucky Ranks met with New producer/DJ known as
KC Jockey, where KC Jockey produced and released 2 singles for Plucky titled “High Roller” and “Model” on the Sweet Sadie label in 2002.
Plucky Ranks then went on and did numerous collaborations with various artists. The one that he saidstand out was a single he did called
“Work Ya” with a female artist name Mack Mama. He also got an opportunity in 2004 to perform on a stage show in Guyana. In 2006 Plucky Ranks decided to leave New York City and moved to Atlanta Georgia.On arrival in Atlanta, he still had dreams of extending his career in the music business and met up with the CEO Sherwin Sterling of New Creations Records, who had interest in him because of
his energetic DJ style and lyrics. They decided to sign him to a recording and management deal. New Creations Records has released a single
call “Pastor and Deacon” on a compilation “Roots Juggling” on the “Naw Study Wrong Riddim”. The CD was released on August 21, 2007
in Jamaica,Japan, throughout the Caribbean, Europe and the USA.
Plucky Ranks has been gracefully working the stage on numerous stage shows and dance in Atlanta. He recently performed alongside Mavado, Capleton, Munga, Bounty Killer and many more.In his own words “his dream in life is to make it in the music business so his days are not wasted”.
People who have inspired him throughout his musical journey are Culture Naahe, Peter Tosh, Cutty Ranks whom he was named after.
