OTHDANE
HENRY (Dane Danejah), a native of Kingston Jamaica, started
his music career as a DJ while attending All Age (Middle)
School and doing shows in his local community of Portmore.
With a burning desire to become internationally known as a
reggae artist and to make his mark in the music business,
DaneJah migrated to the United States to further both his
education and music career. He enrolled into college to
study audio engineering to further enhance his music
production knowledge and went on to receive a full video
production degree from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale.
This degree would give him the educational experience needed
for audio engineering as well as music video production.
While in college, Danejah and his group Nu-era (also known
as Young Rich Crew) made a name for themselves by headlining
their own local shows in Ft. Lauderdale as well as opening
for international artists such as Shaggy and the Energy God
Elephant Man – just to name a few. Danejah has performed at
Club Strawberries in Plantation Florida, REGGAE SHOCK at the
AT&T Amphitheatre in Miami as well as the annual STING MIAMI
(2003), which is a spin off of the original STING Reggae
festival in Jamaica.
Having made a name for themselves in Ft. Lauderdale, DaneJah
and his group were featured on the FINATIC RECORDS HIP-HOP
COMPILATION ALBUM along with such internationally known
artists as Capleton, Elephant Man, Lady Saw, Tanya Stephens
and more.
Eager for music and business growth, DaneJah stepped out on
his own as a solo artist and relocated to Atlanta GA, the
new Motown of the South. With a new music style that
combines the best elements of dance hall, southern crunk hip
hop and R&B, Danejah plans to make his mark on the industry
by ushering in this new style of reggae music, which he has
appropriately penned CRUNK HALL.
As a song writer, artist and producer, Danejah plans on
being around for years to come. When asked about the long
term effect he wants his music to have on the world, Danejah
has this to say "I want people to get the message from my
music….if its about dancing, if its about cars…what ever it
is I want it to have a positive message….and I want people
to remember that it is real...what ever I write about is a
stage I've been through or something I experienced before.
It's just real…I make music that people can relate to –
music that will last for a life time."
DaneJah is currently working on his debut solo album, which
is soon to be released on New Creation Records.
